Benefit Cosmetics are back at it again fighting Pores & Shine with two NEW Secret weapons. Released on counters in NZ end of May, I was lucky enough to be sent these bad boys to trial over a few weeks. When it comes to pores & shine I am a great candidate. Shine is something I cannot deal with at all, and lucky for me I just happen to be blessed with slightly oily skin.(Grrrr)
Given my enthusiasm towards shine, you can see why I’m excited to try anything out that may allow me to have a lil more control over my oily situation. The Invisible Finish Mattifying Gel RRp $49, has totally got me hooked. So what is it? A light weight, water based gel, which overpowers shine and absorbs excess surface oil, leaving you with a natural looking matte finish.
Simply apply a small amount to cleansed skin and you will see your makeup not only stay on longer, but it will also help your foundation apply easier and smoother. So far I’m really liking this, it works with a mix of different foundations and really keeps your base in place.
Onto the next newbie The POREfessional :Instant Wipe out Super-cleaning Pore Masks RRP $55. I’ve always loved the thought of minimising my pores with masks, but the thought of pore strips absolutely scares the crap out of me. I think it took me over an hour once to fully peel a strip off because it hurt that much ahhh the pain!
But never fear Benefits new Super Cleaning Pore masks are here, and they are super comfortable to wear and so easy to apply. Each pack comes with 8 masks, which you simply activate the product onto the mask by pressing the blue button, prior to unsealing. I like using these at night as I can sit back on the couch with my feet up and relax knowing they can be removed easy peasy, not only that but you see results pretty instantly too.
The dual sided masks essentially clean out and smooth the look of pores around your nose, forehead and chin. The special textured fabric helps to exfoliate and remove pore impurities. Shh it’s a secret but with the Secret Ingredient being Mushroom Extract which is known to clarify pores, no wonder these work a charm!
Now one last product I just have to mention while we are on the topic of combatting pores and shine is the POREfessinal – Agent Zero Shine RRP $61. I have only tried this powder in recent weeks and I’m kicking myself for not trying it earlier. It is super light weight, and finishes off your look perfectly, erasing and keeping at bay any shine that may try creep out your skin during the day.
Oh not to mention its great for girls on the go too, with a built in brush that twists from the base this is a key essential for being chucked in your handbag!
